Leo Farrell Scholarship
Leo Ferrell passed away in September of 2009, and was a member of the Marion community since 1962. Two of his primary passions were the game of golf and serving the Rotary Club, where he was recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow in 2008. Mr. Ferrell was also General Manager/Head Golf Professional at Holston Hills Country Club in Marion from 1972 to 1977, and he was loved by countless junior golfers in Southwest Virginia. The Ferrell family and the Marion Morning Rotary Club established a scholarship fund shortly after his passing, which has helped local deserving high school golfers with college expenses. Adding The First Tee organization as a fund beneficiary will help to grow the game Mr. Ferrell loved in Southwest Virginia and Eastern Tennessee.
